Chris, stick to pandering to the lefties. Clearly you know absolutely nothing about the financial collapse of 2008. Your explanation exposes your ignorance on the topic.
Well Chris you did say one thing that I can agree with.... you don't know much about finances. All those loans to people who could not afford them were the product of government regulation, not the lack of it. Think of all the decades (if not centuries) that too many undervalued loans were not a problem. that was because the lenders actually decided how to risk their money. When government starts deciding those things for them......they will need to find other ways make up for that increased risk.
When government has that much power it invites cronie capitalism which is not capitalism at all. When government holds that much over business' head it makes all of this possible. It is not unusal for government interference to hurt all the people it claims to be helping. Before the Depression government regulations would not allow branch banks to open in smaller markets regardless of how competive they would be. The stated goal was to protect the small town banks. When the depression did hit there was a wave of bank failures because those protected banks who could not survive competion were not strong enough to survive the Depression either. Canada had no such regulation and had fewer than ten bank failures........ the people who did damage to all of those homeowners and investers are the ones constantly call for more and more government...... people like YOU
WOW...I just saw a movie called Star Wars...did you know that there is this war going on in a galaxy far, far away?
Shut the hell up you MORON...if you had any balls, you'd be calling out the most corrupt government since this country was founded..
