No Chris,He's just another flavor of the month. I'm looking for a brokered Convention in which the rabid, red meat base, says "None of the Above" and pulls in Marco, Christie or that other Bush guy ,(God forbid)!
Just my humble view,
MadDog
I don't know why everyone on MSNBC keeps saying Michigan is Romney's home state. No one in Michigan cares about Romney. It's been a long time since the Romney's name meant anything in Michigan. He left the state. Why should we care about him? If he cared about Michigan, why did he leave? He bad-mouths the auto industry that made his family rich and he wasn't supportive of the auto loan. His recent ad mentions he lived in Michigan, like he's proud of it, but then he bashes the state in the same sentence. Ask the people of Michigan - not the news people -Michiganders don't care about Romney.
I don't see how anyone that lives in Michigan, especially if they or their family members were employed by the auto industry, can vote for anyone but Barack Obama. He saved the State of Michigan and the auto industry.
Santorum is the new young MUSSOLINI .
good one. Kill you with his smile
On this evening's Hardball, Chris and the political analyst said, Santorum is the "real article and says what he believes (unlike Romney);" and he has "blue collar cred, unlike Romney, who's the 1 %," etc. But Santorum's rise, those statements, and his claims of being purer than Gingrich and of being Mr. regular guy have an Achilles Heal due to a major element of his experience in Congress.
That was his work on the infamous “K Street Project” with the equally infamous Tom DeLay, House Majority Leader in the early 2000s. (K Street is the noted heart of the lobbying and special interest organizations.) Robert Kaiser (Washington Post) reported the issue in his 2009 book on the dominance of lobbyists, So Damn Much Money, using Republican Senator Chuck Hagel’s observations:
“Santorum and DeLay became the proprietors of the project and met regularly with the lobbyists who supported them. “ And Hagel said, “Our role, the Republican Congress, was to do the bidding of the Republican business community as represented on K Street. That K Street Project was about as blatant as anything I’ve ever seen.” Indeed.
Santorum is the blue collar guy's friend, not immersed in the Washington corruption, is the real article, etc.? That co-proprietorship of the appalling, "about as blatant as I've seen" K Street Project puts the lie to those claims. It represented the worst of the corruption of Washington, which is exactly what most Americans are disgusted with and want eliminated from our democratic process. If Democrats and progressives have much intelligence and awareness (and sometimes i wonder about the Dems on that), they would devastate the gofer boy for Big Republican Business, Santorum in the fall election.
Oh my Chris you and Howard Fineman had a love, gush fest over how sincere Santorum is. What a bunch of horse@!$%#. Fineman ""he can get the zealots" Now that we will give him. Fineman "here is a guy who saying what he really believes"
Chris Matthews "I never get the sense that he is spinning" Aye yi yi Chris. You hate Romney so much you are bull@!$%#ting about Santorum. Santorum is always on the spin cycle. Always
Santorum is a big spender but not on real pro life issues. He is a ruthless classist and a big spender. What a total bunch of hooey you and Fineman were apart of
You sure spoke the truth here Matthews "the media is cheering for Santorum because they don't want to be bored" And that is absolutely pathetic.
yep you are super pacing for anyone but Mitt
Chris I met you at the Libby trial. Asked you why you never cover the I/P conflict. We chatted for a few moments. I think you actually seem interested in what the peasants have to say. Met you again outside of the Tattered Cover bookstore like so many others. Anyway at the Libby trial I mentioned Marcy Wheeler who was the first blogger to ever be given the ok to operate out of the press room and live blog the Plame trial. She wrote the "Anatomy of Deceit" All about the Plame outing and investigation. I mentioned that you should go to Firedoglake where Marcy aka Emptywheel was blogging at about the Plame trial. (you can go read those blogs at Firedoglake) Marcy (emptywheel. net) is from Michigan she use to work for GM in the international market I believe (she went to Amherst and has a Phd I think from the Univ of Michigan) Anyway she is a brainiac. You would really like her. You and your team ought to think about having her on to discuss Michigan, Michigan voters, the auto industry (she has written a great deal about this issue as well and many other issues). Here are a few of her latest. I'm telling you you would love her intellect. She is very fact based.
Have her on about the race in Michigan
Mitt Doesn’t Even Know When MI’s Recession Started
Posted on February 14, 2012 by emptywheel
I thought I was going to be all-Santorum all-the-time until the primary on February 28. Apparently Mitt has gotten the jump on Santorum, though, here with an ad that proves he knows so little about the state he was born in that he doesn’t even know when the depression here started.
The ad starts with the suggestion that people who go to the North American Auto Show–an event attended by people from all over the world–makes you a Michigander.
But it’s the word salad that comes later that is really funny.
The implication is, of course, that Obama did a bunch of liberal things–like investing in new technologies in MI–and as a consequence millions lost their jobs, home values collapsed, and people in Detroit got distressed.
There’s a big problem with that. Both unemployment and foreclosures started going up in MI well before Obama became President. Unemployment peaked in June, just 5 months after he got elected. And while home prices everywhere peaked in 2006, in MI they started falling a little ahead of the rest of the country (though I’m not about to defend Obama’s housing policies). MI actually entered this recession in 2003, not 2007.
If you blame a state’s woes on the guy who was president when those woes started (you don’t, but that’s the word salad argument he is trying to make), then Mitt should be talking about how Bush, by enacting all these things conservatives have wanted to do for years, doomed MI.
That wouldn’t be the truth, either. But at least it would reveal a passing familiarity with the recent plight of the state you’re trying to claim as home.

Aug 29, 2011 – as it reviews the new battery plants in Michigan; This debate between Kevin ... The automotive industry is driving the recovery (such as it is) ...
Santorum .... the last gasp for MSM pro-Israeli leanings ...... Obama must be doing a jig. If Santorum is the best the conservatives can do, then its all over.
Romney is dead in the water, Gingrich is sinking like a stone .... and Santorum has no hope in hell.
Wake up people !!
There will only be one person standing in the end, and that will be Ron Paul
