What are we to make of the 'outrage' over President Obama trumpeting the death of Osama bin Laden? After eight years of cowboy foreign policy and the threat of terror attacks if Democrats were elected, is it wrong that President Obama is reminding voters of one of his biggest accomplishment -- and one his predecessor could not get done? Or are Republicans just ticked off that they have to give Obama credit?
The New York Times examines how Obama is using Bill Clinton to win back donors and votes. And on the Republican side, the Times looks at the rise of Paul Ryan into the most important figure in the Republican party -- Romney notwithstanding.
The Obama campaign's new video gives us another clue as to how they'll run against Mitt Romney -- by emphasizing that there's more work to be done and we have to move forward. The Romney campaign, with its talk of the Soviets, seems mired in the Cold War past.
Voting wrongs: Obama campaign advisers say new restrictions and voter ID laws are putting an undue burden on voters. Here's how their dealing with it.
Last year it was Trump, this year President Obama targeted Mitt Romney during his jokes at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

In the first place, it was Bush and Cheney, who put the program in place in the CIA. It was Obama and all you democrats who screamed against the war and Guantanamo, when Bush was in office. I listen to you quite frequently Mathews and you are a disgusting hypocrite.
From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political
winds shift in an ugly direction." You actually think that he wanted to
get BinLadin? Well, If you do, then you are a moron. He was caught between a
rock and a hard spot. Why do you think that he waited so long after confirmation
that BinLadin was there to go get him? Why do you think that he chose the riskier
plan, a ground operation versus an air strike? He wanted it to fail! Re-read the
quote above from Obama’s own book! Obama has no loyalties to America! He is
funded by George Soros, who hates America. There is a litany of evidence to
justify Obama’s removal from office. So let us hope that America will wake up
and not re-elect him.
Obama’s agenda is quite obvious and we are the recipients, all of us, of his hate and anger towards America. All one needs to do is look at his books and read between the lines. From Dreams of My Father: "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race." "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."
But you and all your far left liberal cronies in the press thought that you had reached nirvana of the civil rights movement by electing the first black president. Unfortunately, it was the wrong first black president. Condi Rice or Colin Powell, would have done quite well not because they are republicans but because they are culturally Americans. When Obama lived in Hawaii, he developed a close relationship (almost like a son) with Frank Marshall Davis, a radical activist and journalist who was a member of the Communist Party in the 1950s. His mother was a self proclaimed communist. His mother’s parents were self proclaimed communists.
Obama said to Joe the plumber; “I am going to redistribute the wealth of
America. What is more communistic in nature then this comment? Obama spent
formative years in Indonesia, age 10 to 17, culturally just not American. Oh
and Reverend Wright’s God Damn America speech, see and listen to the long
version on You Tube. Yet Obama says that he never heard Wright speak like this
in all the 20 years, in which he sat in his church. Yeah right!
If Obama, gets re-elected you will reap the whirlwind and regret every moment of your polarized viewpoint of Obama.
With regard to the quote attributed to Obama above, please note that idiots who actually don't read books but just read propaganda sent out by right wing email bloggers are just that IDIOTS. Here are the actual facts:
A false quote has Obama saying he would "stand with the Muslims," words that don’t appear in his book. What he actually said is that he would stand with American immigrants from Pakistan or Arab countries should they be faced with something like the forced detention of Japanese-American families in World War II:
Goodness, who let the McCarthyites out?
(aimed at Mikey, not you Sed)
Hey Mikey,
Crawl back into your bunker and recount your ammo. People who rely on Fox for their news are less informed than those who watch NO news.
Strange as it may seems,WASHINGTON,JEFFERSON,HAMILTON,and ADAMS never contemplated the choice of a President By universal suffrage,And because of Supreme court,Allowing"POLITICAL CASH HIT MEN"into American political system the peculiarity of the present contest will not let a single one of contending factions professes"ABSOLUTE"confidence in its own PROSPECTS.@
What a shock another right winger in Mikey who hates the President of America more than any of America's enemies. It's laughable when these morons claim that the leader of our country and military hates America and its citizens after he gives the order to kill our number one enemy. Something the Republican leader couldn't (and on at least one occasion made the decision not to) do. It makes one wonder are these guys just ignorant and hateful or are they just sociopaths or are they both? Either way I have to blame the prevaricators and propagandists at Fox, CNN the WSJ, and Clear Channel. They should be proud for creating the divided states of America so that they can continue to pay lower or no taxes while our infrastructure crumbles and our middle class disappears.
As far as criticizing Obama for getting Bin Laden of course the Republicans will do so. They have to after all they couldn't and and Obama has done so much and they have next to nothing to run on so they will have to attack Obama on everything but that is what they do. When was the last time the Republicans ran a positive campaign? Reagan that's when. And that's arguable. As comparison though when Bush and his fellow Republicans ran they ran 9/11 AND Bin Laden ads over and over ad nauseum. Even when the families of those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 tragedy told them it was inappropriate and asked them to stop they didn't. How about the mosque in NY, remember that? Remember how the republicans and the media used that in the 2010 elections? Now that was really divisive and obnoxious and the SECOND the elections were over THAT issue magically went away didn't it? For ANY Republican to suggest that Obama is actually using a legitimate issue that he himself was responsible for as opposed to using issues of fear that had nothing to do with Republican actions is absolutely ridiculous and pure pandering and the media should be ashamed of themselves for yet again repeating GOP talking points.
Hope Chris and Team mention this.

I would still like something on our 81 Congressmen who fled over to Israel in support of the current government and their hard line against Palestine... speaking of a divestment...I would love to divest my Congressman Randy Forbes....of my district... it is so Republican I don't know it is possible unless he does something publically vile or illegal.
Will Chris mention Occupy May 1st action? Will you?
http://www.occupymay1st.org/
May Day is workers day... and if you are working today you are probably being mistreated, overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated.
Chris you did not look to happy when Kimmel mentioned your book. Thought he could hit you harder. Like why is it that Chris Matthews canonizes a womanizer and adulterer like Kennedy and skewered Clinton for his lies about bj's?
My favorite Kimmel slamming
To the press @ 22:58: Kimmel “Some people say journalism is in decline. They say you have become too politicized. To focused on sensationalism. They say you no longer honor your duty to inform America but actively try to divide us, so your corporate over lords can rake in the profits” Nailed it. They sure went silent after that. Total silence! Wish he would have paused just a bit longer here. Give them time to drown in their complicity in keeping the majority of American people blissfully ignorant of the results of our foreign policy
Then Kimmel gives himself a way out ” I don’t have a joke for this. Just want to let you know what some people say. Really liked the closing.
Barbara Walters sure did not like the “tweet” comment. Where is her sense of humor?
Too true Kathleen! I love how these "journalists" and comedians constantly claim that politicians (not advisors I noticed) and actors have no sense of humor because every time I watch these things the politicians and actors have no problem laughing at themselves. The journalists, comedians, millionaires and advisors on the other hand brood, frown and glare with wrinkled brows (at least when they're mentioned by name).
It's easy to criticize others, not so easy to be criticized. Just ask Romney! Ha!
By bringing in Clinton to seek his "advice,", Obama will undoubtedly get bigger campaign donors, but far fewer votes -- especially since he already has one Clinton in the Whjte House to "advise" him (didn't know Obama needed the help, but...). It took Bill C. and his "New Democrats" to take an ax to the Great Society programs that, while despised and maligned by the rich, provided just enough economic stability to enable millions of Americans to work their way into the middle class. Presumably, Clinton's next act will be to take an ax to the New Deal - Social Security. He already (as president) tried some interesting experiments with requiring seriously ill and disabled SSI recipients to "find jobs," slashing their benefits to serve as an "incentive." Did you know that there isn't much demand for seriously ill and disabled workers? Who'da guessed? A number of other punitive measures were imposed on the disabled, most specifically those with minor children. When Obama became president, one of the first things he did was lift the work requirement for those who couldn't work steady jobs (due to pain/illness, etc.) and restore benefits. Bringing in Clinton indicates that he is now prepared to begin "reforming" Social Security the way welfare was "reformed,"starting with the disabled, then moving on to cut off retirees, ending Social Security. Very bad news for all except the very rich, to whom all of our money will be redistributed.
That's a very interesting "assessment." Except, of course Obama isn't bringing Clinton into his administration is he? Nor is he asking him for any policy advice. Clinton is merely campaigning for him. Nice try though in trying to link anything negative about Clinton to Obama.
On the other hand, since he's bringing in Clinton based on your "criteria" I guess we can all count on the budget being balanced, the nation having a surplus and millions of jobs being created if Obama has a second term so thanks for your support!
And Clinton has an almost 70% approval rate so I think there will be alot of extra votes!
sedwinmars,The Great Left"WHIPPER"..Good job 4/30/12.You took them ALL down today, from Mickey de B-3716108 till Alien new BLOG Right chicken wingers.@you the MAN.@
Got to have something to do while waiting for book deliveries. Alas if there were only more comedies on the boob tube. In the mean time I get my laughs here.
Obama and team running "forward" Afraid if folks look back at all of those dead and injured bodies left in the US's tracks we all may turn into pillars of salt
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/30/obama-slogan-forward-msnbc_n_1464480.html#comments
You are so right. I think MSNBC invented the word 'forward' right? And Obama is the first campaign to ever use the "forward" looking campaign theme. Oh yeah they all do. Maybe Joe Scarborogh wants Obama to run on the "Backward" campaign theme? Of course he does! He was one of the most vicious, biased, Clinton attackers when Clinton was in office. Stay tuned! This is just the beginning of the campaign and this won't be the last of Joe's attacks even if it crosses over to his own employers!
You're so clever to note Joe's genius Kathleen! NOT!
Obama and team will not get away with using a one word slogan this time around "Forward" Shameful really. The Obama administrations failure to prosecute one or far more Wall Street sub prime loan and foreclosure fraudsters is going to be one of Obama's huge pitfalls. This "Forward" mantra is ringing hollow amongst the 50, 60 somethings I am talking with. Folks are not enthused and will not be putting in the hours that they did on his first campaign. He is going to have to address the accountability issue. Face the facts.
He came to Boulder Colorado a week ago. Talked to lots of folks who had been in the Coors Event center to hear him speak. Most were disappointed. Not substantive enough. Heard this often. His team needs far more than the hollow word "Forward" How about "no one said change would be easy" How about some prosecutions or some effort in that direction for "pack of lies", torture, at the very least the Wall Street fiasco. People want some read meat and Obama is throwing peanuts and empty slogans. Not going to fly
Killing by Darwin is a right thing for evolution. Killing Osama by Obama is very right thing. All Nobel Price winners should kill somebody to be approved by humanity lovers. Very pity that he didn't pull the trigger by his own finger and eat him as a dog.
If you can point to a molecule of humanity in Bin Laden's orchestrating the deaths of nearly 3,000 American civlians, I'm all ears...
Go back and debate Truman's decision to use atomic weapons against civilians, and you'll probably have some moral high ground. You don't have any here.
Killing Bin Laden was a no-brainer... Making the decision to go ahead didn't require brains so much as cojones...
"We know Iraq has weapons of mass destruction."
"...Bin Laden's orchestrating the deaths of nearly 3,000 American civilians...." allegedly...
"innocent until proven guilty in a court of law". Innocent forever now thanks to Obama.
Cojones is a vulgar Spanish word for testicles. Are you really suggest that Commander in Chief of USA makes decisions using vulgar version of testicles?
"If you can point to a molecule of humanity in Bin Laden's orchestrating the deaths of nearly 3,000 American civlians, I'm all ears."
Sanctions against Iraq killed how many? How many Muslims have been killed at the hands of US proxy wars? How many sides can the U.S. support at once? Now I am not making excuses for using violence as a way to resist US imperialism. But if you think these people are bringing attention to U.S. crimes in that part of the world just for fun..."I'm all ears"
Violence is never an excuse. But there are real reasons for the anger and hatred directed towards the U.S.
If you read or listen to counterterroism experts like former head of the CIA's Bin Laden unit Micheal Scheuer or former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, Kathleen and Bill Christison, read the 9/11 commission report. listen to or read what former ...(tharr be more)security adviser for President Carter Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski and many others have and continue to say about US foreign policy in the middle east. You will hear them repeat over and over again the three top reasons for the hatred and anger towards the US as.
1. U.S. decades long support for dictators in that region.
2. U.S. support for Israel no matter how many UN resolutions or International laws they are in violation of
3. U.S. military bases on their land to protect our access to oil.
While many of us believe that the decades long human rights violations of the Israeli government inflicted upon the Palestinian people is enough reason to be outraged and respond. Being aware that the lop sided support that the U.S. provides to Israel financially, militarily and politically have and continue to fuel the anger towards the U.S. and towards Israel. This unbridled support has and continues to seriously undermine US national security. Today the United Methodist church may take a much needed stand that they have talked about for several decades

Is it asking too much that students receive the same interest rates as the Wall Street Banksters.
0% interest rate for the 1%.
What is good for the 1% would be terrific for students
Give students the same 0% interest rates on government loans that the 1% received. Fair!
