Let me finish tonight with this: What do you do when people don't like you?
What you do is make it not matter.
Look how Mitt Romney got this nomination. He couldn't get people to love him, so he simply used his hundreds of millions bombing the hell out of the alternatives leaving him the only one standing.
Result: Romney's the nominee to run against the President.
It worked before. So, he's doing it again.
Can't get minorities to vote for you? What do you do? You keep them from voting. Set up all kinds of barricades to keep them from the voting booth: kill early in-person voting, require government-issued photo ID cards. Spread the word through the neighborhoods: "This isn't going to be easy. Why not call it a day and stay home?"
Better idea: get people to hate the other guy. Rev up anger against him with talk of "welfare giveaways" and how your medicare is being sucked away to pay for the poor. Oh, you can't be loved, but you might be able to shimmy into the Oval Office if you rile up enough raw hatred of the guy there now.
What a beaut this campaign's become. Talk about a loveless marriage. Look at the crowd in Tampa. Look at the crowd in Charlotte. As Winston Churchill warned, "If there's not love in a marriage, there will be love outside of it."
I expect some Republicans to seriously rethink what they're getting into here.

Bafoonery or Brilliance? What if at the end of the day the apparent Romney and Ryan missteps are a brilliant strategy targeting the electorate and using the Liberal media to unknowingly help them.
Step 1. If you listen closely to what the Romney campaign says they give clues that this is their strategy.
What brilliance it would be if whenever they are on very public shows such as Meet the Press or CBS Morning, etc they say exactly what people want to hear that make them appear to be moderates, to the point that during Nora O'Donnel's interview on CBS this morning Mr Ryan simply said she was "mistaken", he never said that, etc. Meanwhile Mr Romney was saying he would keep some of the components of "healthcare reform". These audiences are places where independents, liberals and republicans tune in and see as neutral shows, so the verbal seed is planted. Stations like MSNBC then rebroadcast what they said over and over all day, depending on whether you watch Hardball, the Ed Show, etc you heard it at least once, but if you are and MSNBC junkie like me you had it repeated visually and verbally all evening. Step 2. The republicans on most issues send out corrections or retractions, but only in writing, note no images of either Mr Romney or Mr Ryan retracting or correcting what they said, even when they do appear, they repeat their position and say the media is mistaken. Step 3. When they appear before their constituents, there base they say what they really intend. It has a visual image and Fox and the conservative media replay those images over and over.
Mission Accomplished. They were successful in getting their message to their base and were also successful in a real campaign of propaganda warfare, i.e. getting their enemy to spread there message for them. There is a wonderful explanation of this on a site called "The Power of Visual Communications" by Mike Parkinson Here is a sample
When it comes to quick, clear communication, visuals trump text almost every time. Presented with the following textual and visual information, would you pet this dog?
If I am correct this could turn out to be one of the most brilliant marketing campaigns in the history of politics and catch the Democratic Party and its supporters totally by surprise, especially when you combine that with the voter suppression efforts where they are utilizing the same strategy. Under their strategy it doesnt matter if they win the battles or not, it only matters that the media is planting the seeds of alarm that there are gonna be long lines, they may not get to vote, it may be lots of drama, which could simply have the effect of suppression through discouragement.
Democrats need to really pay attention. Take a look and you will see it.
Yes, it is buffoonery, and only buffoons would think it was brilliant by presenting pseudo intellectual justifications for ineptitude and conspiracy theories coupled with circular logic like those above. Cuckoo! Ha Ha Ha!
Wasn't too brilliant when on Leno, Mr Romney said of a fictitious 40+ with heart disease would be out of luck with coverage since he waited too long to become covered. Something like, “He can’t play the game that way…. Ha ha.” Romney doesn’t get that it is people like that that Obama care is trying to cover and maybe get handle on cost control too.
Why has no one noticed that this campaign has never been about the economy? It is a referendum on human rights. That is why Romney's group can't get a handle on what they stand for. The Republicans are out to relieve many of us of our rights. They've already destroyed the economy and have no interest in putting money in Americans' pockets. It's all about more control of the population and greed.
I read this election to be about tax policy. At least that is the focus of the GOP.
Romney's only concern is to get his taxes down to below 1%. He wants to drop taxes for his tax bracket down 20% below the Bush tax cut level. Assuming he closed every tax loophole he couldn't balance the budget until 2030 maybe and all middle and lower class Americans up to those making $200,000 would take a tax raise according to the CBO.
Trickle down economics has never worked. The last Republican to have a balanced budget and have a surplus was Dwight D. Eisenhower and he my friends was more like a Democrat. Actually the hight end tax rate under Eisenhower was 91%
Yea look at ME... I've influenced so-called journalists to do their ****'n job keeping the public INFORMED!
bY the way, did anyone notice how badly Mitt Romney really mismanaged the 2012 RNC, he succeeded in losing the election and destroying Clint Eastwood’s stellar career in 72 hours lol
If Romney gets elected, we will be hit with another terrorist attack.
Obama administration on Monday said it has launched a new complaint against China at the World Trade Organization.
Once more we are leading from behind.
Ha Ha Ha! Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. Ha Ha Ha! Go back to your coloring books kid and leave foreign policy to the adults! Ha Ha Ha!
This is the ninth legal action Obama has filed against China with the WTO (that's twice as many as Bush), and of course Mitt is against it as he has employed Chinese slave labor as the CEO of Bain. There is an in-depth interview he gave describing in detail Chinese girls that were held as slaves laboring in a Bain plant he toured in China. Just let me know if you want to read where our American went to under Mitt's Bain's company "rule," 'drpaul' and who it is you support.
Personally I support the guy who supports America and American jobs.
