Mitt Romney is fretting his hour upon the stage. He served his time getting here—running and losing, running and saying what he had to say, signing the documents of admission the right had placed before him. He was, when asked to cite his strongest character trait, "resolute."
Resolute, yes, but toward what?
Some troublemakers in Los Angeles put out a preview of an anti-Islamic movie. It goes viral, gets translated to Arabic, hits the Cairo streets and cafes. Suddenly, there are militants climbing the walls of our embassy.
What does Romney do? Does he decry the anti-Islamic movie?
Actually, no. He had nothing to say about that, nothing at all. All he did was put out a statement attacking a statement some official in the Cairo embassy had put out decrying the anti-Islamic movie.
Mr. Romney had nothing to say about the movie that stirred things up because, let's agree on this: except for the snippets that he issues attacking his rival, he doesn't have much at all to say about anything. And that's the huge emptiness people are starting to notice in this person. Except for his faith, family and business, he doesn't have a whole lot on his mind, in his mind. He's been in public life a long time, perhaps a generation now. If he thought anything, was curious about anything, had discovered anything in life...he's yet to let it out. And, yes, this is why his tent is starting to flop.
The great writer William Manchester described the 1948 presidential campaign of New York governor Tom Dewey: "Superbly organized, rigorously on schedule, providing the very latest thing in media equipment, designed to carry, spread, and disseminate whatever he wished to say."
"He wished to say nothing."
And that could end up being the epitaph for Romney in 2012.

I think we see the true character of Mr. Romney. From my own life experience, working in the corporate world, I've noticed how managers can flip so easily to be in-line with the corporate directives. Never any wavering. Always explaining how whatever preposterous decision was taken is actually great for the company and great for us rank-n-file cubicle class. Keeping us calm and job focused. I am saddened too how easily "truth" and one's own credibility is sidelined in the process. Mr Romney IS that Manager! Everything he says or doesn't say plays to his puppet master- the GOP right. How can he be President to all, when he clearly only represents the the views of a very boisterous few?

This past week our Country again finds itself in conflict with Muslim Countries as an anti-Muslim film is made in the USA and sent out over the internet. A man with a long criminal past, according to law enforcement officials on Thursday, Nakoula has been confirmed as the writer and director of Innocence of Muslims. Tracked down Wednesday at his Los Angeles-area home by the Associated Press, the man identified himself as “Nakoula Nakoula.” This man used our “First Amendment” rights of free speech to make this incendiary and HATEFUL piece of GARBAGE.
That being said, I find it simply OUTRAGEOUS and IRRESPONSIBLE that a Candidate for President of the United States would erroneously criticize a sitting President in a moment of International Crisis, a Candidate from the REPUBLICAN PARTY who’s has spawned the likes of a Rev. in the South who wanted to have a Koran burning day and who’s own Representatives in the House have sent accusatory letters about a highly respected Muslim Staff member Huma Abdin to the Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. The continuing anti-Muslim rhetoric coming the Republican Party is not helpful to maintaining good relations abroad, with Muslim Countries in particular. As a Catholic I am still sick with grief about 911, thankfully with the Lords help it never turned to hate. I want to remind the Republicans of their “Christian Values”, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of GOD” Matthew 5:9
Today on Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd had the audacity to say the “Republicans” have a door open here because President Obama has been slow to act. Really? That’s like saying the vase was thrown out of the window and was broken by the Republicans, but President Obama is to blame because he did catch the vase. Really Chuck get real we aren’t that stupid, we watch MSNBC so we do know what has been going on. MSNBC does a GREAT job of educating us. So to put something out there like that is insulting us, Chuck!
The OUTRAGE may end there but the disappointment with the once Honorable Man John McCain, who in all fairness did stick up for Huma Abdin, coming out in defense of the indefensible is a total disillusionment and disappointment at the end of this once GREAT Americans career. McCain, better than anyone understands that Barack Obama is not only the President but the Commander in Chief; And in a moment of crisis when there are “AMERICANS” in harms way, that this is not the time to play politics in order to save the Republican’s FLAWED Candidate. I found McCain’s actions insulting to the American People.
And for those of you that continue to be undecided, this should have done it for you. The actions and statements of Mitt Romney have been irresponsible, incendiary, reckless, un-Presidential. But more importantly as the time-lines about his statements came to light, we find that Mitt Romney is basically and simply a LIAR. This man cannot stop lying, the press has afforded him every level of respect, they have called his statement mis-statement, un-truths, mis-characterization every euphuism in the book for a LIE. My fellow Americans in our world away from the cameras and away from Washington DC…they are simply LIES. And this LIAR Mitt Romney is unworthy to be our President and certainly by his actions of this week is not CAPABLE of being the Commander in Chief of the Armed Force of the United State of America.
Our number one priority may be jobs and the economy, but the World around us can be a dangerous place and although we tend to live our lives in a bubble, we are choosing the leader of the Free World. President Obama has been honest, steadfast, stoic in the face of danger. Whether you disagree with his policies, you have to admit this is a GOOD MAN, a man that has proven himself to be a GREAT AMERICAN, a man that loves his Country. Do you really want to trade him out at this important time in history for a LIAR?
I agree. The President has been slow to act? By sending troops over there, immediately after the attacks two days ago? Thats funny because when Bush sent troops to Afganistan was he "slow to act?" Did the troops get to Afganistan any faster under the Bush Administration? I don't remember the Bush Administration having Star Trek type transporters. Perhaps Chris could have Chuck Todd on his show tonight to remind us of these wonderful transporters that Bush had and show us some videos of them in operation?

I am surprised that Chuck Todd would say that the President was slow to act. I can not find the clip to get a full context. But I can say, when people move too quickly, specially, when they have per-conceived notions, as exemplified by Mr Romney's reactionary-speed, or as in Cheney-Bush rush to war w/ Iraq over WMD's, then we have more chaos and more death.

Yes, Mr. Romney, freedom of speech is a right guaranteed by our country's
constitution. But that does not guarantee that it is "right" to say it. I have
always believed that a person's belief (read faith) or lack of one, must remain
off limits, and any demonstration of intolerance displays a person's ignorance
and only "demonstrates" that they are less than human.

In 2004 (I think) George Soros posted a picture of George Bush wearing a Hitler mustache on his web site. The reason I mention this is I believe we have more in common than not. I attended tea party meetings maybe three years ago and I saw nothing of what you speak. I wanted to check it out for myself. There were white people, African Americans, Asian, there was no hate speech that I witnessed. You cannot believe anything you read or anything that comes out of a politicians mouth. On the other hand I have personally seen horrible pictures of the President as mentioned above for days on end at Tea Party demonstrations in plain sight in front of our University as did hundreds of others as we drove by daily.

Fox was actually fined for showing those false photos that they faked for that fake news story. Fox does get nailed by the authorities quite frequently. They are the only network who gets nailed for faking news all the time, because they are fake news.

The Holy Scripture and the Gospels, reference the poor and social justice 300 times. Abortion is NEVER mentioned because it did not exist at that time, however the sanctity of life which seems to OVER-RIDE any other Christian Value is mentioned only 13 times. Homosexuality with all the fake outrage it causes is only mentioned 6 times and that is a generous maybe. They seem to only be "CHRISTIANS" when is comes to abortion and homosexuality. The popular Cayman offshore accounts are meant for corporations not so much individual citizens--also, they are not insured. Good luck. They also have minimum deposits and large fees---so really only meant to attract the 1%er class.
No one has a problem necessarily with overseas accounts, what everyone does has a problem with is refusing to show ones tax records. All Presidential have since Mitts own father started the precedent by showing 12 years of tax records to show the public that he had nothing to hide and that he paid taxes and he was qualified to actually make decisions on tax policy.
Mitt feels he is above everyone else and evidently, that he doesn't want to show everyone that he IS, IN FACT, DOING SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than he was four years ago.
We all already know Mitt has dozens of overseas accounts. I have a problem with the fact that Mitt has millions of dollars stashed away in bank accounts doing absolutely nothing. That shows that he isn't a true capitalist. A capitalist invests money. It is both a sin to true capitalists and a sin in the Bible to sit on money and do nothing with it. Especially huge amounts of money. Real capitalists invest their money in business ventures, jobs, research, development, science, education, building, anything that makes a profit. But just sitting on it is a sin. Read any capitalistic book. Read the Bible. What Mitt and all of these rich Republicans are doing is a sin and it is due to these extremely ow taxes they have. If they had high taxes like the old fashioned Republicans like Eisenhower used to charge them (he was the last Republican to have a balanced budget and surplus and charged the rich 91% in taxes), then America would be highly productive like we were after WWII back in the days of Democrats and Republicans who knew about booming economies and good old fashioned Keynesian economics back before Reagan and the supply-side, trickle down economic scam.

The secret to Romney, to “what exactly he is”, and the reason why he “doesn't have much at all to say about anything”—and indeed, to the whole psychology and inner motivation underlying his campaign for the highest office in the land, is that he is essentially a patrician.
He is impelled down to the deepest depths of his being, in other words, by a to-the-manor-born patrician mindset, with an aristocratic, well-born orientation towards the larger world, and most of all, with the patricians' expectations regarding his proper place and position in that world.
That proper place and position is to be in charge, “the decider”, the one who guides the ship of state.
Bush the Lesser—i.e. “43”—a born-patrician if there ever was one, scion of a long line of born-patricians, possessed a great deal of this mindset as well, of course. It was this dubious mindset, in fact, which really informed the whole attitude of the Bush Team to the 2000 Election debacle.
This was an attitude, it always seemed to me, of a sort of fiercely disdainful presumptuousness, that I think can be summed up as follows:
“You've had your fun, we've allowed you to have at it with your effectless little exercises in participatory democracy, so go ahead and re-count all the ballots you want, stare at your precioius hanging chad until you're blue in the face, if you must, but we're taking over now. It's our turn.”
“It's our turn now.” This is indeed what Ann Romney told ABC News a few months ago. Start packing up your things, get out of the way, we're taking over now.
This really is the heart of the “Romney vision” vis-a-vis his presumption towards the office of the Presidency, I believe. “It's our proper place, after all, and it's time that we claim it.”
And in light of that attitude, what do core beliefs, issues, positions, policy objectives, directions in which to take the nation have to do with anything whatsoever?
Mitt Romney is a liar with no backbone and no principles.
If Mitt could simply take a stand on anything left, right or middle, then he might garner some respect. Whats worse is that the Republican Party are showing that they have no principles other than racism, bigotry, hatred, dishonesty, ineptitude and greed. Honestly I cannot think of a single positive thing anymore. I started out hardcore Republican and have slowly gone to the complete other side of the spectrum, although in all honesty, I've stayed pretty much the same and the Party has been the one to move.

Could you please ask this question on your show. Why Mitt Romney and his children never serve in the military? If you love your country, at-least one of your children should serve in the military. On less, it me first, country second. Actually, Mitt Romney and Congress man Ryan are both liars and fake.
The upper classes believe they owe nothing to this country. They have zero responsibility. No military service, no taxes, nothing. They believe they are only entitled to tax breaks, tax loopholes, tax subsidies, free public services, exceptions from the law and regular public requirements (like waiting in airport lines, or for court dates etc).
This is why they have pushed for corporate citizenship which was never really granted by the courts at all but rather assumed by a corporate reporter. This gives corporate board members who are already citizens like the rest of us, extra rights, privileges and exemptions from the law that ordinary American citizens do not get. So much for being equal under the law right?
This just proves to We The People, excluding those corporations who believe along with the Supreme Court that they too are people, that the Republican Party has lost sight of what our Constitution and Revolution was all about. There was no setting up of monopolies. Instead there were laws to prevent them. And now after 8 years of GWB/Cheney with deregulation afforded Wall Street by the Republican Controlled or manipulating Congress we reap what they sowed for us. I know of none of them who have suffered financially or lost their home. As Smuk Romney said we all think we deserve something in return for our tax dollars. Even if it is to take care of a fellow citizen, a sick child, a hungry homeless person, A strung out Veteran. Hey what I say about Republicans after they are showing their sick but funny attempt to colonize this empire called the United Stated Of America you have kicked your own butt. And please don't let the door hit it on the way out of DC. You have ion my eyes raised President Obama to Sainthood.
