Can't find any other place to put this, so I'll put it here. Chris just said that George W. Bush won the 2000 election because he won all three debates. Surely, he remembers that Al Gore won the popular vote by about 500,000 votes. So obviously, the debates were not the actual deciding factor. The SCOTUS was the deciding factor. Ultimately, of course, the evidence suggests that Gore won Florida, as well. Thus, there is no scenario under which one can argue reasonably that Bush won the election because of the debates. Au contraire. The exact opposite argument is actually more reasonable.

The way in which Mitt Romney has run his campaign, with major gaffs that elucidate his total lack of understanding about how the statements he makes have consequences e.g. "corporations are people", the people he has chosen to be involved in his campaign together with the FACT that he will do or say anything to get elected (including singing badly) all demonstrate that he doesn't have the qualities that will make a good president. If elected he will take this country further down the road that George W. Bush did and it won't be good for the middle class or poor people.

It is good to see that distortion is alive and well in republican land. Lets start with the refusal of conservatives to own up to the Bush presidency. It's like he never existed, shunned at the convention as an embarrassment to the party. Why? Is it that the economy collapsed on his watch and by his DE regulation policies, and where we lost 700,000 jobs a month and the stock market lost 1/2 its wealth? Or how about the fact that right now we have the lowest taxes in history. Why isn't it talked about that the reason the debt is so large is that Bush started 2 unfunded wars, coupled whit an expanded drug program for seniors and a massive tax cut for the wealthy? The tax cut that was never repealed cost 1 trillion per year of deficit spending. The 2 wars cost over 1 billion per day each. All borrowed money. The high unemployment is due to the wealthy exporting jobs and their money out of the country. What did we get for giving them tax cuts? Well we got a recession caused by their greed, and a failure to create any jobs. So we gave them 1 trillion per year for what did you say? Job creators? Romney is a great example of the tax cut for the wealthy. Did he create any jobs with his 250 million of wealth? The answer is no! What he did like many of them is to move his money out of the country with the jobs he outsourced to places like Switzerland, the Caymans, and started a shell corp in Bermuda. That is what we as Americans got back from the wealthy. We have high food prices because 26 states are in severe drought from climate change. that drives up the cost of grain and everything else. We don't have a weaker military(another right wing myth) we spend More than the next 50 countries combined on offense. We used to call it defense by that was before invasion fever. The middle east blew up because the people with our help, have been repressed by a series of dictators like Mubarak. They are not used to free speech and think everything that is said comes from the government, so think the Internet video was govt sponsored. Add to that the mistrust they have for us due to our past policies. As for high gas prices they were over 4.00/gal during Bush and not a peep out of the right wing. I will be the first to say Obama is not perfect, but I want the republican party to own the Bush presidency.

The sham vote at the DNC to re-insert references to God and Jerusalem into the Democrats' platform shows us how they rig elections. The voice vote was to close to call. On the third try it definitely sounded like the Nays were in the majority. But it was passed anyway! It gives a great lesson in voter fraud by the Democrats done live on television. This is why they don’t want voter ID. If the election is close the Democrats will do whatever they can to steal the election! BTW people going into the DNC needed photo ID. I say this,,, there is enough jobs to be had ,if our congress sides with our pres. on the jobs bill to get this country back into the race of being the real Greatest country on the planet. Repairing our interstate hwys,our railways,and opening new oil drilling in limited areas. The whole country would be working. But no repub. will even talk about that . Andput a ban on foriegn countries building parts for american products. We can build our own parts and services.

People in this country have forgotten that it was founded on Freedom not Government. Our forefathers knew that a more robust government and bureaucracy drives corruption and suppresses freedom. George Washington was vehemently against political parties. The US Constitution is a simple document a few pages long leaving most decisions to State and Municipal governments. Over the last 200 years we have undone much of what the founders stood for. This and all elections should be about how we can get government out of our lives. The only way to be a true US Citizen is to be free. Ask any of the many recent immigrants that have been Naturalized. We all know them. They risked much to come to the USA and be free. Talk to them about what they sacrificed to get here and what their dreams are and what opportunities they see here that drove them to make those hard choices. In doing so you may awaken your feelings for freedom. Waiting for the government to help you only takes your freedom away. The greatest thing about the USA is that anyone and I mean anyone can make it here. Our founders promised the free pursuit of happiness not the guarantee of happiness. Remember, people in power add regulation and government interference to our lives to keep us down and keep them in power. They give government entitlements to bribe us to give up freedoms. Be brave in this next election and vote the bums out of office and make it difficult for them to entrench themselves like a tick on a hound and take away our freedoms. Vote for the man or woman that wants to give freedom back to the people and when they lose their way or don't fulfill promises of supporting freedom then vote them out of office.
