We can play this game to. Tax returns have been commonly submitted for public viewing since Mittens own father started the tradition decades ago. If you and Mittens want to start all of the new traditions you mention above then perhaps you should start first by living up to the commonly accepted old traditions.

How many wars were prevented by eliminating 22 leaders of the enemy - an enemy without a country, no less? How many future such enemies have abandoned plans to organize lest they attract the same kind of attention? The Russians, the Chinese, the Saudis - no one wants these terrorists at large except maybe the North Koreans. We are increasing our friends and decimating our enemies without major combat operations everywhere unlike the previous Administration. This not only makes him strong on national defense, it makes him cost effective as well, something Mr. Romney and all those deficit hawks in Congress should appreciate.

Not only that but drones are devastating for those who have never seen them in action. Not only do they cause serious damage but they are unmanned so if they are shot down they are essentially just a robot.

This has a devastating effect on our enemies who feel like they are accomplishing nothing. A downed drone is just like another exploded shell. Not having hundreds of thousands of Americans to shoot at has been great for us and fantastic for calming things down over there.

There are many things the old white people voting block are used to voting for that Republicans still represent in their view. They are mostly social issues like pro-life and anti-gun control. Those issues must be satisfied by others to their satisfaction before other issues grab their attention. This is not meant to be a generalization of old voters because it is not true across the board and it is a different issue for different voters (Cuban emigres from the Castro era, for example, vote Republican/AntiCastro, their grandchildren are more independent). Accept the fact and do your best - vote your conscience.

Yes Joseph you are right about the one issue voter. I think I would put them into the other low information voters because these issues they care about are always going to be devicive, so it is time to vote your pocketbook and stop being sidetracked by emotional arguments.

Some of this resistance is the unwillingness to change and feeling safety that a Republican will never take away your gun or will "guard the sancity of life". Romney claims he can fix our tax problems. Of course then he said if he got elected he would do nothing and the economy would get better on it's own. He also said he would lower tax rates for the 1% (him) 20% more than the Bush tax cut level.

All those claims makes us want to see exactly how honest he has been on his own taxes just like his own father said we were entitled to when he started the tradition of seeing candidates tax records all those years ago and every candidate up until Mitt has followed suit on. Only Mitt has disgraced the process and his own father with regard to this tradition.

If you taxed the 1%, the same rate as the rest of us that would take a huge burden off us. It would cause them to more than likely lower their salaries and start reinvesting in their own businesses (in jobs, R&D, and expansion). It would also stop the bubble/burst economy we've been experiencing.

What Mr. Romney does with his money is the only indication the American voter has of what he will do with ours. All evidence indicates he is 100% for avoiding taxes and 0% for investing in the future of this country. When he can demonstrate to the American voter some other vision for this country (by revealing 10 years of his returns) we can change our minds, but I suspect the other returns will show more of the same.

It is important to realize that while the right wing refers to Mitt as a successful businessman, Mitt has made his zillions by purchasing American companies for nothing or next to nothing and then has taken the profits, borrowed against these company's financial credit, stolen the workers pensions, and pocketed these monies. This is what equity firms do. Then the companies are stuck with all this debt that Mitt and his buddies have piled on them by draining all their cash and we the tax payer are stuck bailing them out of bankruptcy. Do not be fooled. Mitt has become rich off the misery of others and we have paid in loss of jobs, loss of business and loss of taxes in more than one way. They are not builders or expanders they are leeches. This is what happened in the banking and mortgage crises. We have been witnessing the dismantling of American business and jobs and Mitt has been one of those engineers who has profited by doing it.

We are concerned with what Mr. Romney and friends will do TO us:

Stop health insurance for 30 million MORE Americans (Affardable Care Act repealed).

Affect senior citizens' healthcare (cut Medicaid, 'replace' Medicare with vouchers).

Start fighting with Iran, Syria, Iraq (again) and anyone else Mr. Romney and the Neocons want to bully with the most powerful military ever.

Deregulate the financial industry so we can be vulnerable to another recession that almost sinks the world.

Subject our wives, daughters, and nieces to reproductive tyranny with mandated, medically unneccessary ultrasound procedures and restrictions on contraceptives.

Eliminate environmental regulations so (for example) hydraulic frackers can contaminate citizens' drinking water with impunity.

Eliminate our voice as much as possible by ensuring voter suppression legislation succeeds.

Eliminate union bargaining rights.

It seems the 1% is obsessed with us; Mr. Romney is just the face we see.

For as long as I have been voting I have experienced the fact that if one does not hold ALL Republican positions TO THE PROPER DEGREE, well, they are grateful for your vote but never let you REALLY become one of them. Contrast that to the Democratic Party which invites blacks, women, union members (that includes teachers, police, firefighters - the ones that protect and nurture this society), disabled, listens to their voices and comes up with policies to help all Americans. If Democrats are toeing a line, then the line is much wider than the GOP forces on its members. I will take this big tent over yours any day.
